Poetic License II: Samantha Thornhill & more
Friday, April 20th, poetry will be taking over the Chewstick lounge, with “Poetic License II” featuring Trinidadian Spoken New York Spoken word Artist, Samantha Thornhill and a mix of local poets and artists.“Poetic License”, is an evening of poetry and spoken word starting at 8pm at The Chewstick Neo-Griot Lounge & Cafe’ it will feature, spoken word artist and authour, Samantha Thornhill. She will joined by Bermudian vocalist and poet Joy T Barnum and a group performance by ChewSLAM. It’s an event not to be missed, as this a chance to experience a medley of poetic expression across cultural lines. It will be an amazing evening hosted by Chewstick’s own Soca Monarch, Tanzaoui who is sure to bring a high energy, entertaining and amusing style to the stage.
Poetic License, will be Samantha’s debut performance in Bermuda, her dynamic mix of Trini-flair and New York flow will surely captivate the audience. This evening will see her share her talents alongside Bermudians, showcasing awe-inspiring, conscious, and sensual poetry. Tickets are FREE, for a night you won’t forget. Samantha is passionate about taking her poetry to the streets and as a member of Pop Up Poets she is adept at impromptu and captivating delivery that will be a real treat. Her presence is a valuable addition to the Poetic License series, which is designed to spotlight the beauty, expression and richness of storytelling through poetic artistry.
This is the chance to not only experience a great international poet but to appreciate poetry in a new light. The poets involved are excited to share their talents on April 20th, and to connect with the audience in a different way.
