The Mighty Chew FC’s Sunday football season began Sunday October 21st with a first match against Sunday league newcomers X-Roads. Chew FC have enjoyed their best ever performances in the past two seasons, finishing runners up in the Cup competition and the league, ensuring we’re a team to beat…that!

The 2012/13 season presents the opportunity to not only further cement ourselves as a force in the league but also bring some silverware home for the yet to be built trophy cabinet at The Chewstick Neo-Griot Lounge and Café on the corner of Court and Elliot streets. This season has already presented its challenges with some key cast members moving on to Corona and the BFA Premiership leagues and stalwart goalkeeper Gavin ‘scare-a-striker’ Smith sidelined with injury.

20 league games (including a few under the lights), cup competitions, thrilling game play and lots of laughter are all kicked off October 21st. The league is 11-a-side, 45 minute half’s on regulation pitches…with rolling subs. If you have 5 minutes of fitness, a glimmer of footballing prowess, a lot of heart and the ability to wake up on a Sunday morning, Chew FC could be the team for you. Dues for the entire season are $50 and personalized jerseys can also be acquired for an additional $50. Interested parties should send an email to tanz@chewstick.org for further information.
