The Chewstick Foundation has a special treat with King Somner on Saturday, May 3rd. This talented, die hard Bermudian storyteller, rebel and experimental lyricist will be holding his debut show 8p.m.; he’ll share the story of his art, his journey and life observations. Opening act Haile Griot will bring some knowledge and stoic reality to the night before King Somner wows the audience with his mix of spoken word and song. Tickets are $10, for an evening that should not be missed as King Somner is an amazingly emotive performer with a definitive Bermy flair.

King Somner has been sharing his talents for a number of years having accompanied the Chewstick collective on both their 2010 and 2011 tours. He was also a part of the D.I.A. band and has since branched out on his own to develop a new style of music that is uniquely Bermudian, dynamic and unpredictable. The Chewstick Foundation strives to spotlight artists, inviting them to tell their individual stories and expound on their motivations and is excited to have these amazing talents taking over the lounge this weekend to celebrate new insights into the different forms of performance, expression and culture to break down barriers, bring people together and inspire others to share their voices as well.
